MacBook Not Turning On?
We diagnose and fix dead MacBooks - get your Mac back to life
Don't Panic - We Can Help
A MacBook that won't turn on is stressful, but it's often fixable. Whether it's a dead battery, failed power circuit, or logic board issue - we specialize in bringing dead Macs back to life. We fix what others say is "unfixable."
Why Won't My MacBook Turn On?
There are several reasons your MacBook might not be responding. Here are the most common causes:
If your battery is completely drained or has failed, your MacBook may not turn on even when plugged in. Older batteries can lose the ability to hold any charge.
A damaged USB-C or MagSafe port can prevent your Mac from receiving power. The charging cable itself may also be the culprit.
The SMC (System Management Controller) or power management circuits on the logic board can fail, preventing the Mac from powering on.
Component failures on the logic board - from liquid damage, age, or manufacturing defects - can cause a completely dead Mac.
Even small spills can cause corrosion that eventually kills your Mac. Sometimes the damage shows up weeks or months later.
Sometimes the Mac is running but the screen is dead. We can diagnose if it's a display issue vs. a power issue.
What to Try Before Bringing It In
Try a Different Charger
Borrow a charger from a friend or try a different outlet. Make sure it's the correct wattage for your Mac.
Let It Charge
If the battery is completely dead, let it charge for at least 30 minutes before trying to turn it on.
Force Restart
Hold the power button for 10 seconds, release, wait 5 seconds, then press it again.
Listen for Signs of Life
Put your ear close to the keyboard. Do you hear fans spinning or any startup chime? This helps us diagnose.
