Seven broken Macs, $575, and a Marine who doesn't quit.
On February 20th, 2020, Stephen Smitley spent $575 on a lot of seven Early 2011 MacBook Pros off eBay. Sold for parts. AS-IS. Dead.
He was a Marine Corps veteran, furloughed during the pandemic like millions of others. His bills were paid and he had a little left in the account, so this wasn't a desperate all-or-nothing gamble. It was a squared-away guy looking at a stack of computers nobody wanted and thinking, what would it hurt.
He fixed them. He sold them. Then he did it again. People started asking if he could look at theirs, and he said yes. That was the whole business plan.
Most repair shops have a founder story. Ours has an order number. We tell you the truth about your repair, what's wrong, what it takes to fix it, and when it can't be saved, because our own story is true too.
What began in a corner of an apartment with a microscope and a lot of determination has grown into one of Atlanta's go-to independent Mac repair shops, right here in Marietta. We do the board-level diagnostics and micro-soldering most shops won't touch, because the machines everyone else gave up on were worth saving. We still believe that. Every Mac on the bench gets the same shot those first seven did.
