A2141 MacBook Pro 16" Repair Atlanta
MacBook Pro 16-inch 2019 board-level repair
About the A2141 MacBook Pro
The A2141 is the MacBook Pro 16-inch from late 2019, the last Intel-based 16-inch MacBook Pro. It features a 16-inch Retina display, the improved scissor-switch Magic Keyboard (replacing the problematic butterfly keyboard), four Thunderbolt 3 ports, and either a Core i7 or Core i9 processor with up to 64GB of RAM. It was a popular machine for professionals and is still widely used today.
As these machines age, we're seeing more board-level failures - particularly power delivery issues where the MacBook gets stuck at 5 volts and refuses to boot. At The Mac Space, we perform component-level diagnostics and repair on A2141 logic boards, targeting the specific failed parts rather than replacing the entire board.
Common A2141 Issues We Repair
No Power / Stuck at 5V
The most common A2141 failure we see. The MacBook won't turn on or gets stuck drawing only 5 volts from the USB-C charger. We trace the power delivery circuit to find and replace the failed component.
No Backlight / Dim Display
Screen stays black or extremely dim even though the Mac sounds like it's running. We diagnose and repair the backlight circuit on the logic board.
Liquid Damage
Spills cause corrosion and short circuits on the logic board. We perform ultrasonic cleaning and replace damaged components to recover liquid-damaged A2141 boards.
USB-C / Thunderbolt Port Issues
Ports not recognizing devices, not charging, or causing kernel panics. We repair or replace damaged port controllers and connectors on the A2141.
Battery / Charging Problems
Not charging, battery not recognized, or unexpected shutdowns. Power management IC failures are common on aging A2141 boards and are repairable at the component level.
Overheating / Throttling
The Intel i9 A2141 was already known to run hot. If it's worse than usual, could be thermal sensor issues or power delivery problems on the board.
