Vintage & Classic Mac Repair
We bring old Macs back to life. Macintosh SE, Plus, Classic, and beyond, repaired and restored in-house in Marietta.
Old Macs are not disposable. A Macintosh SE, a Plus, a Classic, these machines are still repairable, and we love working on them. When a vintage Mac will not boot, will not read a disk, or the screen has gone dark, we can often bring it back. If you have a vintage Mac, bring it to us and we will help you out.
Real Repair: A Macintosh SE Brought Back to Life
A customer brought in a Macintosh SE that needed to run again, along with a fresh operating system. We serviced the machine, installed a working floppy drive, loaded the system, and just like that it booted. Seeing that classic desktop light up on original hardware never gets old.

Watch the Screen Flicker (Your Eyes Cannot)
Look closely at the video and you will see the screen slowly flicker. In person, your eyes never see it; a CRT redraws its picture about sixty times a second, and your eyes blend those redraws into one steady image. A phone camera does not blend them. It captures the screen row by row at a slightly different rate, so the CRT's refresh shows up as a soft rolling flicker on video. It is the old monitor's heartbeat, invisible to you, caught by the camera. Little details like that are part of why we love vintage hardware.
What We Work On
We assess every vintage Mac individually, and we will tell you honestly what it needs, what it will cost, and whether it is worth restoring. No promises we cannot keep.
- Compact Macs: Macintosh 128K, 512K, Plus, SE, SE/30, Classic, Classic II, and Color Classic.
- Later vintage: LC and Performa models, PowerPC Macs, and the early all-in-one iMac G3 and eMac.
- Common vintage jobs: recapping leaky logic and analog boards, floppy and hard drive replacement, corroded PRAM battery cleanup, power supply repair, and operating system reinstalls.
Why Vintage Macs Stop Working
- Dead clock and PRAM batteries that leak and corrode the board.
- Aging capacitors that leak and need recapping, common on compact Macs.
- Floppy drives that no longer read, and decades-old hard drives that have failed.
- Dried-out or failing power supplies.
- Corrupted system files that need a clean operating system install.

That is the CRT's refresh. The screen redraws about sixty times a second and your eyes blend it into a steady picture, while a camera captures it row by row and catches the flicker instead. It is normal for a healthy vintage display.
